Having constructed the boats a few weeks ago, (and done lots of other activities in the mean time – flag games in the woods, a “What 3 word” challenge etc. – it was time to try out the boats, and see if they would float. Each boat was placed into the water, and then 280g bags of flour and sugar were added as weights, to see whose would take the most. Some were limited by their size, some by the fact water seeped through the cracks, and some were a bit top-heavy. However some went all the way, and held all 7 weights!
This evening the group met again for the first time after lockdown, and each individually made some reindeer cupcakes ready for Christmas. I don’t think they’ll last that long though!
Another of our weekly challenges – loo roll monsters – had everyone’s imagination going. Here are some…
The BB wild garden has seen action from wildlife this spring while we’ve been away. The bulbs, wild flowers have all been growing well, and a blue tit as taken residence in the bird box!
The company members have been busy making cakes as part of a weekly challenge series of BB at home. Some very tasty looking cakes!
The senior group made some home made plastic with milk and vinegar, and created these great little keyrings. It’s surprising how solid they are when they dry out completely!
Tonight a small group made a tasty curry!
Some members and their families went for a walk in the New Forest, visiting the Portuguese Fireplace, the Knightwood Oak (the oldest tree in the forest) and the reptile centre, in which we saw some frogs and an adder. We also had quite a bit of fun crossing a small river across the path!
The daffodils we planted last autumn are now looking great in the BB garden.
