Ukuleles at UNITE

The ukulele group (Saul, Tom, Lizette, Amy, Claudia, Morro, William) were invited to BBHQ which hosted the UNITE event this week (29-31 May) to undertake a number of workshops with willing campers wanting to play a ukulele.
The group did a fantastic job, and there was a real sense of achievement; the participants went away with a new skill (some stating that they wanted to learn more about the ukulele!) and the Uke-group organised and ran the event themselves.

Well done all!

World Champions

We are proud to announce that our Junior Section are the winners of the Boys’ Brigade’s International Team Games. They fought off tough competition from across the globe to be crowned world champions and can’t wait to lift the trophy at the next Thursday session.

In Action Again

The band was in action again last weekend providing all the music for the evening service on 17th May 2015.  The service at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church was led by Rev.Lesley Martin. We played for 5 hymns and some back ground music before and after the service. A highlight was an ‘Angel’s Prayer’ by L. Baker. The congregation welcomed our addition to the service and complimented the music we provided. We look forward to the other events we have in the pipeline, keep your eyes open for us in and around Chandler’ Ford in the coming months.

Church Service

23 members of the band attended Chandler’s Ford Methodist church to provide the music for the morning service on 19 April 2015. The service was led by Mrs D. Dalby and the band provided the music for 5 hymns, also playing ‘Minuet from Berenice’ by Handel and ‘A Gaelic Blessing’ by Rutter during the service, plus playing some back ground music before and after the service. The music was well received and encouraging comments were made to the musical director after the service.

Back for another term

Juniors are settling back in the routine of the weekly meetings now.

Inspection

Back to inspection

We had a great week playing cricket & bottle football, making spiders, playing a few African themed games, solving some anagrams as well as the usual teasers. We have a great commonwealth themed week planned and are looking forward to having everybody here to enjoy it.
